Parade of Homes to support Education Foundation initiatives

For the past four years, the Clarksville Homebuilders Association has donated 50 percent of ticket sales from their Parade of Homes event to the Education Foundation to fund its many initiatives for local students and teachers.

The event is a tour of many local homes from Association members. Featured homes will be located in a variety of areas and subdivisions. Builders are allowed to fully stage one room in each home with furniture and accessories. Participating homes will be judged prior to the Parade of Homes. Winners will be determined in numerous categories. Real Estate agents and mortgage lenders will be present to give information for those looking to purchase a home.

The public can view the “Dream Homes” with the purchase of a ticket through the Homebuilders Association or the Education Foundation for $5. Admission for children under 18 is free. Attendees must keep their tickets for entry into all of the Parade homes.

New Clarksville-Montgomery County Teachers Will Save Out-of-Pocket Dollars from Visiting the Teacher Warehouse

During the 2014-2015 school year the CMC Teacher Warehouse saved teacher shoppers $47,000 collectively,  in out-of-pocket expenses on school and office supplies they would have spent for their classrooms. This figure equates to about $40 for each visit made to the store by a teacher. One hundred and sixty plus new CMCSS teachers visited the Warehouse on July 30-31st to secure needed items not only as a new teacher, but also for students that may potentially show up at school without supplies. Many of the shoppers during the two-day event could not believe all of the items they had access to and were very appreciative of the support from the community!
