Our children have the opportunity to grow and learn at one of the best school districts in Tennessee. One of the many ways the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System continues to be a premier educational institution is through the programs funded by the Education Foundation.
The CMC Education Foundation is a non-profit foundation that functions as a fundraising support for program initiatives. When teachers and school leaders see a need for a resource that would enhance learning for students, but are not funded through the normal school budget, we step in and provide financial assistance. This helps ensure that our students receive all the necessary tools and resources to help further their educational experience.

The Foundation funded Great Idea Grants, 3-D printers, school supplies, professional development opportunities, academic awards recognition, incentives for passing advanced placement exams, and much more. There are numerous events, sponsorship opportunities, and volunteer needs throughout the year that provide a variety of ways in which you can be actively involved at whatever level you are comfortable.
CMC Teacher Warehouse
The CMC Teacher Warehouse is located at the CMCSS Central Services South building on 1312 Hwy 48/13.
The Teacher Warehouse allows CMCSS teachers the opportunity to have access to new and gently used donated supplies for the benefit of student achievement. In the past nine years, the store has saved local teachers an estimated $344,099 in out-of-pocket expenses.
Great Idea Grants
For the past ten years, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation has offered CMCSS educators the opportunity to compete for funds that benefit their classrooms and special projects in a non-traditional way.
Awards were based on a competitive rubric and the projects’ potential impact school-wide or in the classroom.
Academic Awards
For the 31st year the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and Education Foundation continued a tradition of recognizing the academic excellence of CMCSS high school students.
To receive the academic achievement award, a student must maintain a 93 grade average with no grade lower than 85 in any one subject. This academic criteria has remained the same since the inception of the program. Students who are first or second-year recipients are honored at school assemblies in the spring, and third-year recipients are invited to be recognized at a Foundation and community-sponsored banquet with their parents.
Leadership CMCSS
In order to build better community understanding of school system challenges and successes and to enhance public school system advocates; it is the goal of the Leadership CMCSS program to build awareness among community leaders on various topics of Clarksville-Montgomery County schools to help improve citizen knowledge about our local education system practices, decision-making processes, planning and overall model in preparing students for the 21st Century.
The program is designed to build better community understanding of school system challenges and successes and to enhance public school system advocates. The Foundation has made the goal to bring Leadership CMCSS back for the Fall of 2021. All community leaders are encouraged to apply.
